Riding Tips That WILL Save Your Life

  • Enjoy your rides; you need to figure out how do that for yourself; it's different for everyone

  • Realize that motorists cannot see you; if they look you in the eye and wink, they still can't see you; don't believe for a minute that they see you

  • If you think that you're riding over your head, you are; slow down

  • Ride so that you allow yourself options for evasion whether that's braking, dodging, or going around

  • If you think that your health, sobriety, tiredness will affect your riding, be careful, it will

  • Brake before turns; wet leaves, dirt, oil will put you on the ground; sudden braking in turns will wash out your front end

  • Slow in, fast out ... only when traction allows; sudden acceleration in a turn with leaves, dirt, oil, etcetera, will wash out your back end

  • Ride the PACE

  • Take a riding class whether it be racing or safety

  • When riding with friends, pay attention to what you're doing, not what your friends are doing

  • After a period of non-riding, you motorists; a ton and a half of metal beat a quarter ton every time

  • When a motorist has almost killed you, turn the other cheek; they didn't see you

  • If a motorist intentionally tries to kill you, don't play games, survive and get their license plate; report them
